Today most of our blue bees emerged to find a spring day full of
flowers. I don't know how they knew to pick this day, but i do know
how to grow the flowers and build bee hotels.

The hotels are easy. Just fill a container with large straws and put
in a sunny sheltered location. The bees will find in and fill the
straws.

If you are lucky and see them emerging another interesting event
occurs. The females are the last to emerge and all the males wait
around to fertilize them. This occurs as the females emerge and is
quite a show. Visualize a few hundred bees hanging around a tube full
of straws.

If everything goes as planned the bees pollinate flowers all spring
and then fill the straws with next years bees. This continues to
expand until predator wasps or available flowers limit their
population. So far our are still expanding.
