There are a few small problems int the toolchain installation running the ecos-install.tcl script as indicated in http://ecos.sourceware.org/getstart.html. By default the script doesn't indicate what the problem is but does when verbose output is enabled. The script is failing to properly capture the contents of stderr to report them after the problem occurs (why not just leave stderr unredirected?). The original problem is that the hard links in the ecoscentric-gnutools-arm-elf-1.4-2.cygwin.tar.bz2 cannot be untarred/reproduced when used under Cygwin / WindowsXP. This problem also prevents the environment setup files from being produced.
