There seems to be a Net-SNMP v4.2 patches branch over at Sourceforge if
someone wants to eventually merge those in, or if trying to track down bugs.

For the novice, here's a quick example of the sourceforge diff
capabilities for one file between what we use and what's been updated.
I believe we're based on version 1.244
