Just as there are now studies that say that low-carbohydrate diets may be useful for weight loss, despite the conventional wisdom of the American Dietetic Association (see http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20000218/hl/ftb_18.html for details,) we may be on the brink of deciding that EDI is not so bad after all. At least that's the opinion of an article in InternetWeek's Feb. 21st edition in the "E-Business Applications" section entitled "EDI Is Alive And Kicking, Study Says." My favorite line: "XML.... will expand the ways that companies can use the Web to transact business, but it will not replace EDI standards such as ANSI X12 or EDIFACT in the near term..." Very well written article. Helps that I agree with it, of course. :-{) Rich Hurd ECommerce/EDI - Lucent Microelectronics +1-610-712-8044 ======================================================================= To signoff the EDI-L list, mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To subscribe, mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] To contact the list owner: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Archives at http://www.mail-archive.com/edi-l%40listserv.ucop.edu/
