Thanks to all for the direction and we have been searching through the 104
and 110. Again the total reponse has been of a high caliber as I expected.

Subject: Re: Air Freight Booking Transaction set

Sam Presutti, of Celarix Inc., "the leading provider of web-based
transportation procurement and logistics management services," asked
"which transaction set or sets which are similar to the ocean 300
series, but deal specifically with booking airfreight cargo?"

Dear Sam:

Coming from FORESIGHT, the World's leading provider of EDI productivity
tools and a dominant player in Web-EC, I can certainly say it's good to
be talking to another "leading provider" of something or another. It's
lonely at the top, isn't it?

I seem to vaguely recall that there were a dozen or so similar messages
for Air in the old TDCC standard, numbered in the 100's. As whatever
remains of the TDCC transaction sets has long been migrated to ASC X12,
I took a look-see in EDISIM to see what air messages made it into ASC
X12 004010. The only survivors are the 104 and the 110.

I think X12 neglects air cargo automation because it is really handled
by messages promulgated by the International Air Transport Association
(IATA), at http://www.iata.org/cargo/edi.htm. The IATA has two
standards for air freight: the "proprietary" Cargo-IMP (Cargo
Interchange Message Procedures), and the Cargo-FACT subsets of
UN/EDIFACT messages for customs, booking, waybills and consignments.
