Sounds to me like the capability of dialing in to a business partner's
system via modem. But let's hear what the knowledgeable members of the list
reply.

Subject: What is direct data link (DDL)

I have a client whose trading partner has told her to set up DDL (direct
data
link) which is another
requirement in addition to the EDI.

What is DDL? How does it differ from how she dials out to VANs today?
Who would require this and why?

Thanks for any input.
