Thank you for mentioning EDISIM in your message. It is always good to see
our product's name mentioned on EDI-L by our customers.
Regarding Commodity Codes and EDISIM: the NMFTA Commodity Code is an
external codes list which is available only from that organization, as Doug
Anderson and others have indicated. There are many other code lists, like
SCAC codes, that are also external and available from the organization that
maintains them. thus they need to be provided by that organization. They
are not provided in the X12 or EDIFACT standards because they are controlled
by external agencies. We obviously have provided in EDISIM all the codes
which come with X12
and EDIFACT.
