AACRAO's 11th Annual EDI/EC in Education Conference The SPEEDE Committee has been busy all year planning the 11th Annual EDI/EC in Education Conference to be held October 22 - 24, 2000 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bakersfield, California. This is the premier conference on electronic data interchange in education offering 32 sessions over a 3-day period. The conference is intended for admissions, registrar and data management professionals in student systems and enrollment management who want to join over 500 higher education institutions around the country in moving away from paper systems to implement electronic transfer of student transcripts, enrollment verifications, course catalogs, admissions applications, financial aid data, test scores, institutional characteristics and prospective student information. Included are presentations on various K-12 project developments and initiatives implemented in several states throughout the country. Mentoring is an important part of the EDI Conference. Along with the informal mentoring that naturally occurs, attendees will be grouped with one or more of the experienced EDI users for more deliberate discussion of EDI issues within their respective areas.
