I notice that there is a generic(?) Transaction Set Purpose Code in the BEG segment of the 850.  This code contains some values which seem relevant to the 850 and some which do not.  Is there any definitive guide to which codes are valid where, and what they mean in these various contexts?  Or do trading partners decide between themselves?
