Hiya,
I'm not sure what version you're on (4.2.1 here, ev5 just arrived on my
desk, gonna do a test install soonish). However, I have made quite a few
support calls - some with the SAP interface, may not be relevant to you. But
I'll agree, once something is running, it's quite stable - until you throw
something new at it again.

My suggestion would be if you're planning to do any 'new' EDI work over the
year - perhaps different message types / different message standards
(ANSI/EDIFACT/ODETTE whatever) that you've not used before or whatever
(XML?) - then keep the support.
To question 2 - nope, decided to get the XML addon when the need comes up.

I wouldn't mind getting a copy of some of the feedback you get off the list
(I'll be reading the stuff on list).
Cheers
Michael

Subject: TO: Harbinger TLE users

Hello,
I have 2 questions I would like to ask those of you using Harbinger TLE. If
anyone would like a rundown of the answers, please let me know and I can
forward them on to you in a week or so. FYI we are using TLE for NT.

1. We will be upgrading to EV5 in the next little while and are considering
not purchasing the maintenance package once our installation is stable. We
have found that the greatest number of problems came up while setting up TLE
and that once it was running we needed little help. The last I heard,
Harbinger was charging $160.00 USD /hour for support if you hadn't purchased
their maintenance agreement. As our agreement is up March 31, 2001 and we
expect to have worked out the kinks of EV5 by then, we thought getting
support by the hour might be a safe bet. Are any of you doing this now or
thinking of doing it in the near future?

2. Have any of you purchased the XML portion of TLE with EV5? If so, how
have you found the ease of installation, use and support? Do you have any
comments one way or the other on this offering? Our customers are thinking
about XML but not likely for another year or more. We are not likely to
purchase it this go around.

Thank you in advance for your comments.
