Nelly, In my experience, I have seen a lot of different flavors. I believe that most people do not implement the 856 until they have implemented the 850 and 810. However, some trading partners pay off the 856 and don't require the 810. Most good shops at least try reconcile the 810 to the 856. And of course there is the the hybrid 857 Shipment and Billing Notice document, introduced in VICS 4010, which combines the "important" data of both the 856 and 810. I hope this helps.
