Kris,

I don't use TLE. I use TIE Commerce's eVision, but we have switched
from GEIS to a VPN along with a number of other Electrical Supply Vendors
and Distributors. May I offer you my experience.

GEIS would not accept any delimiter from my account that wasn't the
hex 0A (lf).

When we got over to the VPN, all the data transfers were made using
FTP, not asynch or bisynch using CLEO as had been the case with GEIS. There
was no segment delimiter checking and/or substitution done by the VPN. All
the trading partners that used hex 0D,0A (cry,lf) to send documents to me
were failing in the translator because of using 2 characters instead of 1
for their segment terminator. I asked them to use the tilde (~) and we no
longer had any problems. I also send out the tilde to trading partners with
translators that can't handle 0A (lf) as the segment terminator. Hope this
helps.
