I think that copyright standards apply, so that you cannot re-badge it
and issue it as your own. My understanding is that copyright applies to
the particular expression, and not the underlying ideas, so sending EDI
messages which conform to a MIG does not mean that you have to have
bought the MIG in the first place.
I feel about proprietary MIG's much as I feel about Toll roads; I can
understand the rationale for charging but I do not like them at all :-)
