Lorenz Beyeler is "...looking for a sample that describes the Orders
message (D.96A, either EANCOM or EDISPORT) with lot/package in subline
items. "

Lot numbers, batch numbers, or whatever you call them, are usually
assigned by the manufacturer for things made under the same conditions:
viz., at the same time, in the same plant, or on the same assembly line.
The buyer generally wouldn't know ahead of time the lot number of the
product to put in the ORDERS message in the first place. It really
seems like something the manufacturer would *return* to the buyer - say,
in the DESADV Despatch Advice or the INVOIC Invoice message.

In the event numbers like these were to be "regurgitated" back (or even
supplied in the first place, such as EAN/UPC numbers) to the
manufacturer, the GIN Goods identity number segment might be used.
