It was a good article, but aren't they simply discovering what EDI folks
have known all along?  It isn't the syntax or the silly VAN versus internet
discussions, its the integration challenges.

If partners can't standardize process and information such as product data,
location codes, entity identifiers, request dates, etc, then automating
messages between them is always going to be hard.
