My guestimate would be Yes, it will wait.

Almost certainly not.

This is a personal UK SME-centric view. We are developing 'XML
converters', but this is primarily to keep the developers amused and to
have a basis for reaction when we see which way the wind blows, rather
than as a response to any significant market demand.

I suspect that conventional EDI will turn out to be surprisingly
durable.
