I watched a CNN interview last night with a Cardinal from California that
really struck me.
He said that, like most cities, his city shut down early so he was driving
home in "darkness". It occurred to him that "darkness" is how terrorists
choose to live. Their lives and deeds are cloaked in a cowardice darkness.
He went on to suggest that all families take this opportunity to get closer
to their family and faith by lighting a candle in a dark room, and
reflecting on the power and the hope that light emits amidst the dark.
We are truly blessed to live in a worldwide "family" of good, decent people,
who like us, choose to live in the light. God bless all of our worldwide
friends for showing such support. I know that all Americans will volunteer,
donate blood, and whatever else needs to be done to overcome this dark
period. And in the end we will be a stonger, more unified, and even greater
country.
