We upgraded to 4.7 last year and the impact on EDI was minimal. For example the SAP version that specified in the EDI_DC segment is now 620 which seems strange since it used to match the SAP version. Little stuff like that that you would have to resolve to test. We had the most issues with our IDOC user exists. We had to test these carefully. And I seem to recall that the behavior of text segments changed. The biggest problem we had was in performance. Transaction VL10A and VF31 became exeedingly slow. One little thing. If you are used to using the service relationships feature to drill into an IDoc from the SAP document, this is not enabled by default (for performance reasons). You have add a parameter to your user settings (SD_SWU_ACTIVE) to get the link back.
