Seriously, Any EDI effort worth implementing, should use the most
standard, affordable and appropriate methodology available to the
partners.
Spreadsheets may not seem like EDI, but they're used a lot more than most
people think. It's actually not hard at all to automate the
receipt/processing of spreadsheet data.
That
said, I wouldn't recommend it unless there were no other
alternative.

If it's data, it's EDI.
