a) would be complicated for them...  after all, it's encrypted, so why compress 
it?  ;-)
b) this sounds like the best solution.....to us.
c) If you are doing Direct to Store shipments, the huge number of stores is 
going to cause a problem.  How/where are they going to split them?

Is there a way to reduce the processing time?  Faster computer?  Dedicated 
process?

If you can reduce the time required to process, the problem would go away.

Unfortunately, none of our clients (that I have immediate access to) receive 
files that big...
