Prasad, If I were you I would move to GIS. GIS is just another tool like Gentran 6.x, but it will give you all the new technology stuff as: HTPP Connections, SOAP, ODBC, AS1, AS2, FTP, XML all in one. Form the maintenance point of view I would think it would be better in the long run. Just it is not easy to learn it. Hi, I am trying to find a good reason for buying GIS 4.0. I looked at GIS and found that it has some nice features. But, I am unable to find a solid reason on why we should buy GIS 4.0. Currently, we own Gentran Server for Unix. 1.) We are currently using Gentran Server for Unix 6.0.2 as our EDI Mapping software. Also, we use the Data Managers to handle the inbound EDI files. Most of our maps are in the visual mapper format and few in Application Integrator Format. Also, we have lots of shell & perl scripts that do pre-processing and post processing with the flat files. 2.) Also we use Oracle 11i as our ERP. Most of our flat files come from Oracle. Also, we have create some XML files and upload them to Oracle. (using gentran). 3.) We own Map Pack from Inovis to upload Item attribute information to 1SYNC(formerly UCCNET). Now Inovis has discontinued mappack. Therefore, we are also looking for a solution to upload all our Item information to 1SYNC.(Currently, I manually created xml files with the item information. validated them against the XSD and was able to upload all the item information to the Data Pool). I want this to be an automated process. -- Is GIS a good product for upload data to 1SYNC. (How easy it is to use GIS). Does GIS 1SYNC solution support the LOWE's SCHEMA extension ? 4. ) We currently use Inovis BizLink for our AS1, AS2 & FTP communications.
