Just the perspective of an old executive who really did value his vendors.... I realize implementing changes to our EDI system will cost our vendors time and money, just as it will cost us time and money to implement those changes on our end. I'll ask our vendors to absorb their cost of those changes. I won't ask them to absorb ours as well; after all, we're the only party who benefits from those changes.
