Your description sounds as though you are piecing together a solution.  Another 
approach might be to purchase one solution to manage all a aspects: Tradacoms, 
X12, EDIFACT, XML translation; flatfile and report generation, database query 
and update.  Softshare Delta does all this for less money than you might think, 
and if you add ECS, which integrates seamlessly with Delta, it will manage and 
schedule your VAN access, FTP, ASx, file reporting, etc.

Softshare is quickly becoming one of the top names in the EDI / e-Commerce 
world - and for good reason.  They produce solid products that address real 
issues, provide the best customer support you could ask for, all at a price 
that will make your Controller gasp with relief.  In my last job, we 
experienced an ROI of under four months when we converted to Softshare software 
and VAN.  Things have only gotten better since then.
