Yes yes, huge mistake, do not go this route. "module... that they're
writing" I am still wrestling with an ERP that has an EDI module written
over 5 years ago. We get a change from a customer and we have to wait for
the next service pack to the entire ERP before we can implement. They've
gradually been moving their mapping process out of the .exe and into
something I can modify but it took YEARS before they realized this was a
good idea.
The project manager at your consulting company now believes, "EDI? Sounds
simple enough. How tough could it be?" Everyone underestimates EDI.
