Blue Shield of California is seeking a EDI Developer/Technical Lead
for our Data Interchange Group that will Provide technical leadership
for the development and implementation of healthcare B2B integration
solutions as part of the overall eCommerce initiative. The candidate
will develop and maintain complex EDI/HIPPA programs, interface and
report capabilities to meet business unit needs, analyze user and
business requirements; determine appropriate technical approach and
develop specifications for implementation of various applications with
particular emphasis on SeeBeyond ICAN 5.x, eGate 4.5.3, Monk, Java,
Web Services.
The candidate will also:
* Work with system vendors to enhance existing programs and to
coordinate implementation of changes, participate with business and
technical management in development of goals and objectives as they
relate to systems needs and changes.
* Work with the eCommerce and Project Architects to design and
develop EDI and Self Service business unit solutions.
* Work with project managers, technical leads and development
staff to identify and execute on architecture and engineering tasks
and requirements.
* Work with other architects, developers and vendors to ensure
compliance with architecture, engineering and design standards.
* Work with QA, Performance Testing, SCM and Release Management
teams to ensure the implementation of code to plan and within budget.
* Ability to provide administration of the SeeBeyond environment
and ongoing maintenance and support of current 24 X 7 production
environment.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree and seven years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Comprehensive knowledge of English Language Programming or
current generation programming languages. Knowledge of operating
systems and systems hardware maintenance; familiarity with network
communications technology
* Extensive experience with HIPAA Transactions: 837, 834, 270/271,
276/277, 278, 835, 820
* Experience working in all phases of the interface development
lifecycle
* Experience integrating with Monk, Oracle, MQ, Java, CICS and web
service interfaces
* Experience with UNIX operating systems
* Experience working with the Sun Java Composite Application
Platform Suite (Java CAPS) suite of products (eGate 5.1, eBAM,
eVision) a plus
