We are testing failover/restore process at client location. I have
few questions in this regard.
1. We have a copy of realtime DB and a copy of file system(an old
one at same patch level with production).
Would that be sufficient to start up the GIS on a different server
or do we need to do anykind of GIS installation on that server?(I am
making sure I change IP for license on the new server and running
JNLP)
2. Do we need to have a realtime copy of file system along with the
database?(if we are not making any major changes to filesystem
manually? - even though if DB is realtime)
3. Should the new DR file system(copy of prod) be defined on lines
as prod (like the file system path ex: if in production we have :
C:\SterlingCommerce then can the DR GIS be D:\SterlingCommerceDR ---
)?
4. If at all production system is crashed for good.. is there a way
that we can trace the logs from the database as why and how it
happened? (since we do not have file system but we have realtime
database)
5. If we have file system and its corresponding database can we
start GIS? Do we need to take care of anything in the windows
registry/services?
Any help would be greatly help.
Thanks
Vinodh
