That's an open ended and loaded question.  When you say GXS I assume
you mean AI.  XI is not an EDI tool and is more of a EAI tool within
SAP.  If you want to be a 'pure' EDI that I would suggest to go
towards more GIS, but keep GXS AI in your back pocket.  It's best to
have XI connect to some EDI tool whether GIS or Seeburger or even GXS
AI.  To use XI for pure EDI would require lots of development since
there is no EDI modules per se built in.  That being said also learn
XI.  It will not hurt.
