> Will SQL sver and Oracle work the same way?
The ODBC interface is DBMS-agnostic BUT....
You need to make sure any SQL statements you use are also common, as SQL
statements are passed by Driver Manager to the the ODBC driver "as is."
Oracle especially supports a lot of functions and notation which are not
supported by any other DBMS... but Oracle also supports "portable" SQL - a
bit more effort to write, but it will work against non-Oracle datasources.
Example: Oracle supports a 'nullif' function which is not supported by
MS-Jet (Access).. although both DBMSs provide an ODBC interface. If you
need what 'nullif' does but the statement needs to execute against Jet, you
need to change your SQL.
(I have no clue if nullif is supported by SQL Server).
