Sending 997's in response to inbound 850/860 from a major (and I mean MAJOR)
retailer....
Client to major retailer ("MR") , written by MCM (that would be me) in
response to muddled message conveyed originallly from MR to Client to me via
telephone.. by which time I was so bewildered I just wrote the question
myself.....
"Just to make sure I understand the format of this.
Did you say that we could only have 1 ISA segement per physical file or
can there be more than one as long as each ISA starts on a seperate line
after a carriage return, line feed?"
MR to client, forwarded to MCM
"Hi Mark,
We can accept only one ISA segment per physical file."
Never thought I'd see this from anyone, leave alone this particular "MR."
And last week I also had one where "value added service provider (major
brand name) specifically providing ANSI EDI transformation services for
'major auto parts retailer' could not handle more than one '855'
transaction set in an interchange. (Of course it was properly enveloped.
What, did you think I just fell off the turnip truck?)
Twenty-five-plus years in the ANSI EDI business. Call me crazy (get in line,
that is), but are we going BACKWARD?
