Be sure that you have something mapped to the SAC segment other than
the variable to force the segment into the output.

I would use Extended rules instead of Standard rules.
I create a temp variable in Session rules and update the variable value
everytime I sum the values. At the end, I would pass on the value from the
defined variable to my SAC.

Hello,
I am creating an outbound 810 map in Gentran. On the flat file side, I
can have multiple freight charges that I need to add together, and then
sum into a single SAC on the output.

I am using the Standard Rule "Accumulator" where I am using the "Sum"
function on the flat file side and the "Use" function on the EDI side.

Not only I not getting any values by doing this, I am getting three (or
however many freight charges I have) SAC segments for the output, when
I need just one.

Can anyone offer any suggestions, or send me page 241 of the "Tutorial
Guide". I was told that there was a good explanation on how to do this
on that page. Only problem is, I can't access that page.

Thanks in advance,

Michael Josiah
