Lots of my clients exchange - well, they RECEIVE - the 864 from their
customers.
Mostly I've seen it used as "poor man's......"
- 824 Application Advice (you sent a bad 810 or 856 and the text message
explains the error)
- 816 Organizational Relationships (ship to/bill to address updates)
- 860 Purchase Order Change (BION!)
AND.....
I have actually seen the 864 used for its intended purpose: to convey a
message such as an announcement of holiday receiving hours
Mostly you just "rip and read" these, or maybe make up a basic text report.
Not a heck of lot else you CAN do with 'em anyway.
