Ah...! Now it makes more sense! Web-Forms is a WHOLE different animal. For those that do not know, this is the Inovis "web-based" EDI tool that is an online collaboration tool - allowing a buyer to send an EDI PO to a vendor and the vendor can then go to a secure website and view the EDI PO in a screen form, and they can then use that same form and website to generate an ASN (and the Invoice) when the shipment is ready to go. They just go back into the website and the PO and (variations on the theme) click the SHIP button and it generates the ASN data and then transmits it.
So, I guess, Sarah, I'm wondering why you need the raw data...? I mean, even when you get the "raw" data from Inovis (or whomever) it's still going to be in an EDI "format" - as it's been translated at some point. Here's an idea on how My EDI system works.... My buying group creates a PO in our system, and flags it "EDI - Y". The job runs at 4:00 PM that picks up that data - the raw data - and then translates it - according to My 850 translation map - and sends the data to Inovis Works (My VAN). From there, Inovis sends the data to another VAN (if required) where it's then put into the proper mailbox for the vendor. If they use Inovis Web-Forms 0r some other variation (SPS Commerce, DI Central and most of the players have a solution), it's then put into a "web-friendly" pretty format for the vendor to view on the website... They can print it and maybe even populate the data into some other program (like maybe Quicken or Excel or ...) - but this is all dependant upon what the provider (Inovis, SPS, etc.) offers up as an option. If the vendor does "in-house" EDI, the document is sent from My VAN to their VAN (if different) and then they pick it up from their mailbox and then their translator (TrustedLink, Gentran, whatever) breaks down the data and populates their ordering system with My "raw" (but now processed) data. So, given this data flow, the only way you're going to get "raw" data is to go directly to the trading partner. No matter how deep you dig into Inovis Web-Forms, it's always - ALWAYS going to be translated data - simply because I've translated it on the way out of My systems into an EDI formatted document... And I go back to My question from your original post, too - what format of the raw data are you looking for ...? The Hex codes...? Once the data leaves the source - My ordering system - it's in EDI format until it's been broken down again in the vendors ordering system. Craig E. Unfortunately I used the wrong term for the Inovis program my client is using. So I want to ask again: Is there any way to export and download the EDI Raw Data for a 850 PO from Inovis Web Forms?. The export function that I found in the program, does not export just the EDI Raw Data. The data seems to be some kind of interpretation/translation of the raw data. Currently I have to contact Inovis customer support and they email me a document with the raw data. Therefore the raw data must be there. Does anybody know how to download it to a file. I know I can establish a mailbox and download via FTP etc. But I want to know if anybody knows how to get the raw data from WEB FORMS?
