>It would be a HUGE help if we knew what the application system
>(receiving/sending) data base structure.

OK, it's what I said: a simplified interface of my own design, for which I
used the term "flat file" because although it's media-independent, "flat
file" is a concept I thought everyone would understand. BUT.... If you
really want to know what the "final" ERP interface structure look like,
check your of copy of the Point.Man (MAPICS) EDI interface specifications
for 830R, 850R, 855S, 856S and 810S. Then you can tell me I was right when I
suggested that might be tad complex for a non-programmer or junior
programmer to try to maintain themselves..

Re the rest, I said I wanted to use the existing TL software as part of the
solution. Why?
1. User is already familiar with it
2. It's paid for
3. It includes all the communications features

>Inventing more man time with the old software would be counter productive
>IMHO. Better to bite the bullet and get a real solution.

Huh? I believe I said that is exactly what I am doing.. making a better
solution... it may or may not involve additional off-the-shelf software.
We'll see.

Sorry, I shall not be walking in your footsteps, replacing one rip-and-read
system with a better rip-and-read system. My tiny mind simply cannot see
that as an improvement.
