Hello.
I am looking for some feedback from EDI Notepad users, primarily from ones who
would use Inbound EDI HTML-View/Print as a "legal" document.
Currently EDI Notepad is placing TP Logo at the top of each HTML-View/Print. It
is a default functionality and in some cases is the only way to clearly
identify the Trading Partner to the user. Once one of many EDI Notepad users
requests particular partner logo added to database - entire EDI Notepad
community would have the logo on all documents for that trading partner. To my
knowledge we can't turn on and off logo display for specific partner.
Question:
Are there any legal implications of displaying Trading Partner trademark logo
at the top of the documents? Assuming that such documents would not always be
used only internally but sometimes - made available back to trading partner?
Would I need to contact each of my trading partners and collect written consent
for logo usage?
And YES, I did contact EDI Notepad vendor, but they did not really have any
documentation convincing me that Logo can be used legally with no additional
authorization for particular partner. [I know you are reading this guys, please
do not take it personally. ]
Also, if any of you are aware of any other EDI viewer similar to EDI Notepad -
please let me know.
Please kindly reply to this post, or email me back at shluft at yahoo dot com
Thanks,
Ilia.
