Subject: [EDI-L] EDI in the UK

Good morning,

My company's UK business has been growing tremendously and as a result they are
getting a new HQ, warehouse and a new ERP and it seems I will be taking over
their EDI translation and communication functions. I already do a few minor
docs for them now that are EDIFACT SLSRPT. I speak EDIFACT and X12 quite
thoroughly but Tradacoms is a pretty new beast to me.

I am looking for some recommended places to start reading up on Tradacoms and
EDI in the UK in general. For instance...how does their enveloping work...do
they use it? Why does the order look like its three different maps for header
detail and summery (in GIS/SI mapper they are all different spec types) Do you
get acknowledgements back?

If anyone can point me to any reliable resources I would be most grateful

- Samantha
