Leah, Our customers are not bound by any "contract" and they do not have to depend on us for developing, adding, testing or modifying their own maps. They can purchase the mapper separately at any time, or they can hire the services of a consultant who owns one. We do offer mapping services because our small business customers require them. After all, we can build, test and deploy maps much faster and more efficiently. Besides, most SMEs only need a few maps anyway, so Why bother purchasing a mapper and learning how to map? As to "scalable" our software architecture was designed for that. We've built two separate but complementary products: a mapper that runs on Windows to develop, test and compile "map libraries"; and a translation engine that can be deployed to any platform with these "map libraries" to convert files. So you can run the same solution anywhere, from a PC running MS-DOS, all the way to a Mainframe, without any changes! I cannot thing of a more scalable, practical and economical solution. Furthermore, this architecture allows companies to develop, test and modify their maps in a separate "test environment", without compromising their translator operations in production. As to the "black box" comment, that is not at all what we offer, as I explained above. However, we've come to realize that may be exactly what many SMEs are looking for, since most of them don't have the time, patience, and resources required to engage in traditional EDI. After all, if the "black box" is inexpensive enough and it does the job, why bother fixing anyway. You can always buy an upgrade or even a new box if you have to, as long as the price is right...a disposable "EDI box" if you like! There are thousands of small businesses worldwide that could and should be doing some form of EDI but aren't, mainly because traditional EDI solutions are expensive and/or complex. We have been experimenting with this new alternative throughout Central America during the last couple of years with great results. Maybe it's time to embrace new alternatives and entrepreneurs, instead pushing the same old companies and products forever. As we roll out more customers in CA, we plan to launch sales in the US more aggressively. Until then, we prefer selling our products and services in more forgiving environments, where they are desperately needed. As usual, I appreciate all your comments, since they always help us improve. Thanks, Ricardo
