It depends.
That's usually something you discuss with your planner. They've been getting
this data via EDI and on paper for dozens of years most likely. Pull out some
history and sit down with them to ask them how they want to see it.
PS..getting the customer to do it differently than they do is not going to be
possible so tell your planner to put that right out of his/her head.
Calculate, extrapolate to your hearts content but do it with just what you're
given.
