In working with X12 for over 20 years I can count on one hand the number 
of times I've seen anyone use a TA1. They might have had more value back 
in the days of dial-up communications and modems, but with modern data 
transmission it is extremely rare to see a bad interchange unless the 
trading partner sent it that way.
