Don't take this the wrong way, but until you can actually point out the 
"fundamental big[sic]", you're not going to get a lot of traction here.

Considering companies with very/mostly smart people have shipped millions of 
systems based on this, you need to bring something more concrete than a 
specific system hangs when I do a certain operation...

But, if you're able to find something architecturally wrong with the UEFI 
specification, or the implementation in edk2, please report it to the list.

Otherwise, reporting issues with your specific HP system isn't really useful...
