The main motivation for this series is <https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1153927> -- OVMF's PlatformBdsPolicyBehavior() currently prevents Intel BDS from handling the "OsIndications" variable correctly. (See "7.5.4 Exchanging information between the OS and Firmware" in the UEFI spec.)
Patches #1 to #5 are simple cleanups that lead up to the fix. Patch #6 is the fix. Patch #7 is a somewhat unrelated patch that I've had lying around for ages in my tree. It trivially conflicts with patch #6, hence I've rather rebased it on top of patch #6, and I'm including it here following our "upstream first" principle. Public branch: <https://github.com/lersek/edk2/commits/bz1153927_frontpage>. (Side note: I know I need to review a few pending series from others. They are not forgotten. I'm just having trouble getting to them, especially after being away for more than a week (including the KVM Forum 2014, which was great). A few patches that I thought were my shared responsibility to review have already been pushed (thankfully!) -- I've been less responsive due to capacity problems.)
