also you could try:

Yule, Kendall 1958. An introduction to the theory of statistics.
Siegel, Castellan 1988. Nonparametric statistics for the behavioral
sciences. (there were some editions afterwards)

the latter includes remarks about testing the significance of partial
tau. This is important because in some texts you may find an information
that probability distribution of the coefficient is unknown and it could
be used only for descriptive purposes.
