Let me clarify my question
Considering, mode is the maximum value of density function or f'(x)=0. The
maximum of independent variables has their own distribution. For example
the distribution of maximum of independent exponential variables is
exponential. 1) What is the variance of this maximum value considering it
has distribution? 2) What is the advantage of using mode (maximum of f(x))
rather than median (P(x>median or x<median)=.5) as an estimate of population
average?
Thank you. A. Tahai
