Jim said "Reaction time outliers are most often due to
distraction or a missed cue, so that it is usually not necessary to individually
justify excluding each single outlier."
While this may be common practice, you should keep in mind
that it is possible that your experimental treatment affects one's
distractability. If that is the case, then removing outliers amounts to
removing an effect of your treatment.
