Position Available:

Assistant / Associate Professor of Education (Educational Psychology)
This is a tenure-track position offered by the College of Education with the tenure line in Educational Psychology.

Beginning: Fall Semester, 2003

Appointment conditions:

Responsibilities:

*  Teach graduate or undergraduate courses in Educational Statistics and Measurement
*  Advise and mentor graduate students in Educational Psychology
*  Develop/continue successful program of scholarship in Educational Statistics or Measurement
*  Contribute to the generation of external funding
*  Provide service to the educational community

Required Qualifications:

1. Earned doctorate in Educational Psychology or closely related field by the time of appointment.
2. Relevant teaching experience in higher education.
3. Evidence of high quality scholarship relevant to Educational Statistics or Measurement.
4. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and advising graduate and undergraduate students
    commensurate with rank.
5. Ability to teach introductory and advanced courses in educational statistics.
6. Demonstrated commitment to collegiality and collaborative research efforts commensurate with  
                rank.
7. Experience in working with individuals of diverse backgrounds commensurate with rank.

Desired Qualification: A program of research on measurement/assessment issues.

The College of Education

Department of Educational and School Psychology and Special Education (ESPSE):

Three programs constitute this Department: Educational Psychology, School Psychology, and Special Education.  The ESPSE department is a dynamic group of College faculty, staff, and students within Penn State's College of Education who

Our Department is known for conducting research on and preparing professionals to employ evidenced-based practices for working with at-risk and identified special needs populations.

The program in Educational Psychology [http://roberts.ed.psu.edu/users/edpsy/edpsy.htm] offers M.S. and Ph.D. programs for students specializing in (a) learning and instruction, or (b) applied measurement. The program offers a variety of graduate courses in learning, instruction, and measurement. In addition the program provides service courses in educational psychology and statistics for graduate and undergraduates in the College of Education and the University in general.
