This may be slightly off the thread but it might be interesting if you were 
to read and then try what P. L. Gardner and I. Hudson did in their paper.  It

You can skip to Appendix 1 and print out the questions (12 PAGES) and answers 
(11 PAGES).  It might be interesting if you tried the questions before 
looking at the answers.  

Would this test be a good indication of the mastery of statistics, at least 
the first part where it is important to choose the proper test?

I wonder how must students, after finishing their work in statistics would 
make out.
