The point biserial between gender and statophobia is just slightly larger
than the r between height of ideal mate and statophobia.

Of course, the men might really be just as fearful of the course as are the
women, but men are reluctant to admit to fear.

        (1) statophobia is a gender issue

        (2) a majority of students are heterosexual

        (3) "Studs" are taller than "babes" (and probably by an amount
significantly exceeding the actual sexual dimorphism of human beings)
