Fair enough. But I still think it is a reasonable goal to be able to "rank"
teams or individuals.
I was not asking for the "right" weighting scheme. I was just asking for a
few pointers.
Of course, I could spend the next six months researching the subject(s), but
I thought it was a reasonable question to ask here.

If perchance someone read my post who has tried to formulate rankings for a
(any) sport he might have been able to give me a kick start.
