b = sum(x^2)/N where b is the statistic to be calculated x is an N times oberved value and sum(x^2) the sum of all observed values of x^2 N is the number of observations It looks like a variance, but mean(x) <> 0. So, it isn't a variance. What is a common name for this statistic?
