Hi ed-stat list:
I was wondering if anyone has experience with the
book "Modeling time-series with S-plus" (by J. Wang / pub: Springer-Verlag) or
with the statistical programming language "R" (http://www.r-project.org/). I am interested
in learning how to do time-series modeling with R. Someone told me that R is a
fast-growing popular substitute (not to mention 'free') version of
S-plus. Is it reasonable to learn how to apply R for modeling
time-series using this book? How different are the two languages? Are there more
suitable books that one might suggest?
thanks in advance,
