A moderately simple way would involve a one-trick pony of a program
that would do nothing but convert old MINITAB files to flat text - or
display them in cut-and-pastable format. The clipboard would do the
rest - easier than trying to convert to modern worksheets.

My recollection is that the MINITAB worksheet format is moderately
obscure, but somebody must know how to hack it. Maybe MINITAB could be
prevailed upon to give the specs, at least for the old version?
